Fireworks Legal Information
According to federal law, consumer fireworks, or DOT 1.4G fireworks,
are legal. Classified “consumer fireworks” are tested by the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and meet specific requirements
with regard to composition, the quantity of pyrotechnic material,
and the stability of the product under head and stress. Once classified
as “consumer fireworks” by the CPSC, the item is legal under Federal
law for consumer use. Commercial (display) fireworks that do not
meet this certification and require a Federal license to purchase
and use them.
Fireworks by Donnora only sells consumer
fireworks (Class C or DOT 1.4G) certified by the CPSC for consumer
use. Because federal law applies to interstate commerce,
we can legally ship fireworks anywhere in the United States. However,
certain State and local ordinances ban the use of fireworks if you
do not possess a permit to own and/or store fireworks. As a result,
the responsibility for complying with State and local laws falls
upon you (the buyer).
We only ship via UPS Ground items de-regulated by the US DOT. All
other fireworks must be shipped by a hazardous materials trucking
firm in large quantities at an additional cost.
Fireworks by Donnora encourages everyone to follow all State
and local laws with regard to obtaining fireworks legally. If you
want to change the laws in your state, we suggest lobbying your
State and local officials to change outdated fireworks laws and
regulations.
Remember, State laws change all the time and it is possible that
the information on sites that we recommend for finding out about
the laws in your state are out of date, inaccurate, or just plain
wrong. To get the facts about the laws in your State regulating
consumer fireworks, call your State Fire Marshal's office. Fireworks by Donnora is not responsible for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies
that may be present in this data.
