Fireworks Safety

Use buckets full of sand or dirt to safely place your Roman candles, wire sparklers and bottle rockets. These same buckets of dirt or sand are great to hold lit punk sticks to light your fireworks AND to keep pesky bugs away.

Distance for Fireworks Pyrotechnic Enthusiasts

Did you know that all fireworks should be lit at least 250 feet from any building structure and you should keep your audience separated from the fireworks display in the distances below for optimal viewing safety:

General Rule of Thumb: 100 ft per 1” of reloadable (artillery) shell. So if you have a 3” shell, you’ll have a fall out area of 300 ft.

  • 150 Feet – All reloadable items, artillery, 500 gram & larger multi-tube items, and large stick sky rockets.
  • 100 Feet – Medium-size multi-tube items and stick sky rockets and small reloadable artillery.
  • 75 Feet – Roman candles, small multi-tube items, small sky rockets and flying wing items (sky flyers).
  • 50 Feet - Firecrackers
  • 25 Feet - Ground base fountains and ground spinners
